A Whirlwind Trip

It is hard to believe we have already been in Zambia for five days. We have seen and experienced so much in five days. We spent the first two days in Lusaka. While in Lusaka we visited two orphanages, two Wesleyan churches, and walked through one of the poorest compounds in Zambia. I wish we could upload the pictures onto our blog, but our current connection is extremely slow. The compound we walked through had tens of thousands of people living in shacks with no doors, windows, electricity, water, beds or changes of clothes. Imagine taking your smallest bedroom in your house and living in it with all of your children after tearing out the floors, windows and half the roof. Despite the poverty the people are happy and we have felt safe for most of the trip. Our guide's name is Litchwell and he is a Pastor in one of the compounds. He is a good man and loves Jesus and his people. After leaving Lusaka we traveled to a number of villages where we experienced real Zambian life. We traveled to an orphanage that was 45 minutes into the bush. While there I walked with Litchwell around the villages and Erin connected with another team of people and went and ministered to some elderly people. Today we traveled to another region in the South and visited the Wesleyan Hospital and prayed with HIV and TB patients among others. We also visited a health clinic and the largest orphanage we have seen yet. It was amazing and my heart was stolen by the children. They immediately climbed onto our laps with little books in their hands. They were adorable. Tomorrow we go to church and I will preach in one of the churches. God has given me a sermon in a dream two nights ago to preach. It will be a hard one as it has to do with sin in the house of God and God's desire for people to abandon their old ways. I believe it is a message from God and is supposed to be preached.

Erin is doing well as we travel. She has been a truper and has made many friends along the way. We are grateful for this experience and look forward to heading to Victoria Falls in a couple of days.

We love you and ask for you to continue to pray for us.
